Nokia Clinches Part of China Mobile's 100G Network Project
China Mobile Ltd. CHL, the largest wireless operator in China and Finland-based Nokia Corporation NOK seem to have strengthened their alliance in the optical network space.China Mobile recently offered a 30% partnership to Nokia in its 2016-2017 100G optical network project to rollout mobile broadband services for the world's largest 4G network.The 100G optical network deal has been structured to support the 'Broadband China' strategy, the country's efforts to meet rising mobile data demand in the cloud era.

Nokia will deploy an optical transport network, dense wavelength division multiplexing backbone for China MobileNokia has been awarded more than 30% of China Mobile's project to construct a 100G optical network in support of its rollout of LTE-based mobile broadband services.The contract win is part of Nokia's 2016 frame agreement with China Mobile.Under terms of the contract, Nokia will deploy a 100G optical transport network and dense wavelength division multiplexing backbone, which it said will help China Mobile deploy services more rapidly and provide scalable capacity for cloud-based mobile services.
