Nokia is EDF R&D's exclusive partner for this effort. The testing going to compare IoT technologies soon standardized with the 3G copartnership Project (3GPP) - involving NarrowBand-IoT (NB-IoT) and LTE-Machine (LTE-M) (also known as enhanced Machine-Type Communications or eMTC) - with other emerging, largely unlicensed IoT technologies. Stéphane Tanguy, head of IT Systems, EDF R&D, said: "The net of Things offers tremendous opportunities for our group. Many Utilize statuses could be enabled with IOT technologies in various businesses from power generation to marketing. The cellular IOT technologies (LTE-M and NB-IOT) are 2 main technologies that we have decided to analisis with Nokia, that provides us with a extremely interesting analisis environment and valuable expertise to tote out these evaluations."
