New Delhi: Nokia phone this day reported its Smartpur project which aims to develop 500 digitally integrated and sustainable villages across India in line with government's vision of Digital India . Nearly a bn of these unconnected people live in India, and mostly in rural India. The spoke centers going to more extend these services to nine other villages from each hub. In phase 2, the project going to be scaled-up to up to another eighty villages across various states. Globally, Nokia phone works with governments, NGOs, our customers and vendors to drive access for all.

In line with the government`s Digital India programme, Nokia phone on Wednesday released a "Smartpur" digital village project with the target of emerging 500 digitally integrated villages across the country in 5 years. "The Smartpur initiative is our contribution to delivering the advantages of broadband infrastructure and services to the `telecom-dark` areas and backing the government`s vision of Digital India for a further inclusive growth," told Sanjay Malik, head of India for Nokia. Nearly a bn of these unconnected people live in India, mostly in rural India. In the premier phase of the project, twenty villages going to be digitally integrated in Haryana and Tamil Nadu in a "hub and spoke" model.
