The daughters of Wakanda, Nakia, and Okoye, became the first Dora Milaje to serve under T'Challa. Okoye, the voice of reason among the two; advises her that it's in violation of their duty to the King by harboring romantic feelings to the Black Panther. The biggest question is will we see Monica in the Black Panther movie? It is one of the few if not only Marvel stories that feature queer Black women.

As soon as Black Panther hit theaters in February and did wonders for the culture, we knew it'd inspire some of the best Halloween costumes this year. Lucky for us, Ciara came through with one of the best Black Panther-inspired getups when she dressed as the philanthropic, butt-kicking heroine Nakia at the Bacardí "Liberate Your Spirits" Halloween party. The "Level Up" singer posted a few photos and videos of her in character, serving looks à la Wakanda. Her husband, Russell Wilson, dressed as Black Panther himself, and her two children, Sienna and Future, were mini versions of Nakia and Black Panther. Ryan Coogler Breaks Down Nakia and Okoye's Distinct Fighting Styles in Black Panther

referring to In this "Notes on a Scene" video from Vanity Fair, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler breaks down the movie's South Korean casino fight scene. As he walks through the scene, Coogler explains his use of color, the character-driven contrast between Nakia and Okoye's fighting styles, and how he designed the shots for maximum impact. '"In addition to creating a great action scene, Coogler also wanted the fight to reflect the themes of the movie and motivations of the characters. "Nakia fights completely different from how Okoye fights," Coogler explains. So primitive."The purportedly supporting characters in Black Panther, including Nakia and Okoye, have become a huge part of the fan response to the film.
